Test Valley’s young people tackle issues
On 1 December Test Valley’s
13 to 16 year-old students and a group of young parents will be
presenting performances at The Lights which focus on the issues
affecting their age group, such as misuse of drugs or alcohol,
relationships and teenage pregnancy.
Local Year 9 students,
their parents and community partners will be invited to the ‘Myths
and Misconceptions’ performances, which will mark a milestone in a
joint project with local schools. The project gives students
an opportunity to explore issues that are important to them and to
develop their skills. The aim is to develop an adaptable
‘School Tool Kit’ that can be used in the classroom as part of the
curriculum.
The project follows on from
a successful initiative last year which focussed on the impact on
alcohol on young people.
This is a Test Valley
Partnership project, delivered by community safety, health and
education organisations.
Tickets for the performance
are available from the Lights Box Office on 01264 368368.
